Charles Alarcón is the creator of The Clover Method © and author of the  book Time Billionaires. With more than a decade of experience in finance, economic policy, and personal transformation, Alarcón brings a unique blend of intellectual rigor and practical leadership to the field of personal growth. His method integrates economics, behavioral science, and time investment theory into a powerful life strategy framework.

He currently serves as CEO of Gruval Consulting, a boutique investment advisory firm operating across Latin America, where he advises companies, governments, and global investors on project structuring, risk management, and capital strategy. His work spans sectors such as infrastructure, fintech, energy, and education—offering hands-on insight into the challenges and opportunities of modern leadership.

Charles has held leadership roles in both the public and private sectors, including Vice Minister of Economy and Finance of Ecuador, where he led the country’s macroeconomic strategy and multilateral negotiations, and Senior Associate at IDB Invest, overseeing risk in a $200M equity portfolio. He also served as an Advisor to the Executive Board of the Inter-American Development Bank, contributing to the strategic evaluation of over $2.8 billion in regional investments.

In parallel with his policy and investment work, Charles is also an academic. He is Principal Professor of Finance at IDE Business School, where he teaches advanced valuation, M&A strategy, and corporate finance using Harvard Business School cases. His academic training includes a Ph.D. (c) in Economics and Business, focused on Business Ethics and Microeconomics, from the University of Navarra, a Master’s in Economics and Finance, and executive studies at Harvard Business School and Wharton.
